Fast Paced day hopping trains all over town and finally making the last Bullet Train to Kyoto.  Check into the Kigashiyama Youth Hostel.  Traditional Japanese Baths. 

Kyoto - Daitoku-ji Temple, Daisen-in, Zuiho-in ("modern" zen garden), Kinkaku-ji (the Golden Pavillion), Ryoan-ji, the Katsura. Take train down to Osaka and vie the new Aquarium and Suntory Museum of Art. 

  Shinto Shrine in Kyoto.  Shugakuin - Imperial Villa, Shinsen-do, the Silver Pavillion, Nijo- the Last Shogun (nightingale floor).  Night walk to Kiyomizo and street shopping in Kyoto.  

Take the Shinkansen (Bullet Train) to Nagoya and then over to the mountain town of  Takayama.  Overnight in an old temple youth hostel.  Lots of old traditional Japanese Architecture and sake' breweries.  Be sure to find the little store selling paper birds - cheap gifts! 

Hido-No-Sato Folk Village.  Thatch roofs two feet deep.  Take the train back to Nagoya and then the last Narita Express.  Overnight in Narita. 

  Noon flight badk to Atlanta, and then return to Baton Rouge.  Its not over yet, cause now the jetlag sets in for several daze.
